Armistice Day: Bere Island Commonwealth War Graves

The graveyard adjacent to St Michael’s Church, Bere Island contains 14 Commonwealth War Graves. During World War One, and up until 1938, the British Admiralty had a base on Bere Island.  A number of the war graves on Bere Island are those of Irish men, who were attached to the Royal Munster Fusiliers and the Connaught Rangers.
